Wirral Radio is a community radio station based in Leasowe in Wirral, which broadcasts to Wirral from a purpose built building containing both the studios and broadcasting equipment. The stations is on air 24 hours a day. The station first applied for a Restricted Service Licence (RSL) and was given the standard RSL frequency of 87.7 MHz FM in 2003. After this they successfully applied for a full license and were awarded 92.1 MHz FM. In November 2012 they were given a further license to broadcast for another 5 years. The station was known as 7 Waves 92.1 prior to a full station rebranding in June 2014. The station re-launched on Monday 16 June at 8am, with John, Neil & Bev on the breakfast show. The first song as Wirral Radio was Pink - Get The Party Started It also broadcast on DAB digital radio across the North West & North Wales〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.northwestradio.info/dab/ )〕 and on line at www.wirralradio.co.uk In 2014, Wirral Radio released an app, which is free to download for Google Play & iTunes.
